Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Poussée (the "App and Website"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App or Website.

2. License

Subject to these Terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Poussée on devices you own or control, and to access the website at poussee.com, for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Restrictions

• Do not decompile, reverse-engineer, or extract the App's source code.
• Do not redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App or any part of it.
• Do not use the App to build a competing product.
• Do not interfere with Game Center matches, attempt to cheat in rated tournaments, or use external chess engines during rated play.

4. In-App Purchases

Poussée offers optional in-app purchases, including gem packs, coach persona unlocks, and the Poussée Pro subscription. On iOS, all purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. On other platforms, purchases are processed through the respective platform's payment system. Refunds are handled per the relevant platform's refund policy.

5. Subscriptions

Poussée Pro is available as a monthly, annual, or lifetime purchase.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• On iOS, manage or cancel at any time in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
• Payment is charged to your account at purchase confirmation.
• No refund for the unused portion of a current term.

6. Accounts & Web Usage

You retain all rights to your chess games, notes, and custom content. We claim no ownership. On iOS, your content syncs to your own iCloud. On the web, your content is stored in your browser's localStorage and optionally synced via Supabase if you sign in.

If you create an account via email sign-in, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your email. You may request account deletion at any time by contacting privacy@poussee.app.

7. Browser Cookies & Local Storage

The Poussée website uses browser localStorage to store your game progress, preferences, and session data. We do not use tracking cookies. PostHog analytics uses a first-party cookie for anonymous session tracking, which you can opt out of.

8. Disclaimers

Poussée is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that engine analysis will be perfect. Chess is hard.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Poussée and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App or Website. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at legal@poussee.app. If unresolved, disputes will be settled by binding arbitration.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
