Double Attack

A double attack is any single move that creates two threats at once. Your opponent can only deal with one threat per move, so you win material or gain an advantage from the other. Double attacks are broader than forks. Any piece can create a double attack, and the two threats do not need to be captures -- one can be a checkmate threat, a promotion threat, or a positional threat.
