Morphy's Mate

Morphy's Mate is named after Paul Morphy, the greatest chess prodigy of the 19th century. A bishop restricts the king's diagonal escape while a rook delivers checkmate on a file or rank. It appeared in Morphy's legendary 'Opera Game' of 1858.
