Pawn Breakthrough

A pawn breakthrough is a pawn sacrifice (sometimes multiple pawns) that creates a passed pawn which cannot be stopped from promoting. The classic breakthrough pattern uses one pawn to divert the defender, allowing a neighbor pawn to charge through.
