Pawn Chains -- Attack the Base

A pawn chain is a diagonal line of pawns supporting each other. The chain has a spearhead (the most advanced pawn) and a base (the rearmost pawn). Nimzowitsch's key principle: attack the base of the pawn chain, because destroying it topples the entire structure.
