Qualitative vs Quantitative Pawn Majority

Not all pawn majorities are equal. A healthy majority (pawns that can advance in formation) will create a passed pawn. A crippled majority (doubled or blocked pawns) may never produce one. The quality of the majority matters as much as the quantity.
