The Bishop

The bishop moves diagonally any number of squares. Each bishop is locked to one color for the entire game: a bishop that starts on a light square can never reach a dark square, and vice versa. A bishop is worth about 3 points -- the same as a knight. However, two bishops together (the 'bishop pair') are very powerful.
