The **Grunfeld Defense** begins with 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 d5. Unlike the King's Indian where Black allows White's center, the Grunfeld challenges it immediately. The philosophy: let White build a big center, then destroy it with pieces. Kasparov made this his primary weapon.
