The London System

The London System is the ultimate 'system' opening — a setup White can play against almost any Black response. It begins with 1.d4, followed by Nf3, Bf4, e3, Bd3, and Nbd2. The bishop on f4 is the signature piece. It's named after the 1922 London tournament.
