The Value of Pieces

Not all chess pieces are created equal. Each piece has an approximate point value that helps you evaluate trades and assess who has a material advantage. Pawn = 1, Knight = 3, Bishop = 3, Rook = 5, Queen = 9. The king is priceless (infinite value).
