Theoretical Endgames

Theoretical endgames are positions that have been completely solved by computers (tablebases). With 7 or fewer pieces on the board, every position has a known result: win, draw, or loss with perfect play. Understanding these theoretical results helps you know what to aim for and what to avoid.
